Assistant Coach
Emily Atkinson grew up in Salt Laky City, Utah and attended Cottonwood High School. She played all four years at Cottonwood and took state her freshman year. Each year in high school Emily earned multiple awards such as taking third team all-state her freshman year, second team all-state her sophomore year and first team all-state as a junior and senior. Her senior year Emily received the all-state academic award and was named PrepVolleyball’s top 100 players in 2010. Emily is attending Westminster College and is the starting setter. Last year as a freshman Emily was named to the All-Frontier Conference Freshman Team. Just recently, Emily was named Frontier Conference player of the week. She is currently a sophomore and is team captain of her college team. Emily is pursing a degree in Education.
Starting at the age of 13, Emily Atkinson played all of her competitive club years at High Country and went to the National Championships every year. While playing at High Country Emily was selected as team captain on every team she played for. Emily has coached and assisted with clinics at High Country, Cottonwood High School and Westminster College and is excited to coach this year at High Country! She loves the sport of volleyball and has a strong passion teaching kids how to play volleyball while having fun and becoming a great player.
